Prime Triolgy, Call of Duty.

-Metroid Prime Trilogy- 

As we all know, Nintendo is coming out with A pack of the Metroid prime games called the Metroid Prime Trilogy. Now, I have all the Metroid games, but the difference here is that this pack has all the games set up with Wii styled control. So I was recently thinking, "Wii style control on Metroid prime!? That's amazing! But wait, Dont I have perfectly good copies of these games?" Why do I need new copies of all these games? I just realized that besides having a different controller and a awesome case, there is no reason to purchase these games. Unless of course you don't have them already or you're like me and must have them. I think that it was a strange idea on Nintendo's part, but it has potential. If someone never had all the prime games, but they did have a Wii, it would be a great way to get all the games you need. Its also a great new way to play these games. So maybe it was a good idea, maybe not, it depends on what situation your in.

-Call of duty: Modern Warfare 2-

I actually have not heard a lot about this game, but man, the first one was so amazing (see the five star games list). This one had better be just as awesome or I'll be mad. Just recently I discovered that you have the ability to dual wield pistols, and that there will be a snow map. The character Soap McTavish from the previous game comes back, but is non playable, as a character in the game. Also the game has something called prestige edition. I believe this picture sums it up.

I got this off Wikipedia so this may not be real, but, this version comes with all the pieces for the game, plus a model of Soap McTavish's head, and functioning night vision goggles.

Well, I'm probably gonna get modern warfare 2 over the Metroid trilogy. but maybe not the prestige edition.

District 9

I just saw District 9, and lets just say that I am impressed. great makeup work, amazing effects, good story, and I love his art style. This inst a movie review per-say but i just wanted to tell everyone to go see that movie.

I was thinking about how awesome a district 9 video game would be. Seeing as an actual FIRST PERSON GAME hasn't been released in years, it would probably end up being third person. Seriously whats with not releasing any FPS games?

The movie itself has a huge array of weapons, lots of areas that could become levels, and a couple great sequences that if done right could end up being simply amazing.

Sgt. Smiles Rant #1

I'm bored late at night and I thirst for typing, I decide to make a new style of blog post called a rant, I'm am simply just going to go off about certain topics that are important to me in the world today. Of course, you know how my mind works right? You know my mysterious ways. So if you have the idea in your mortal flesh that I am gonna talk about something that makes a speck of sense, and let alone is relevant to anything happening around me? Who do you think I am? A crab/lobster fusion? A crabster? Because that is what I am not!

Today I talk about zombies, again. Zombies are a favorite of mine, people have their misconceptions about these gentle creatures, alas that is not what I am here to speak about. I want to talk about the peoples blatant disregard over matters concerning the ever looming threat of a zombie war! Where are the backup research labs, the forts, or the fortified suburban homes? Do you think Americans can last on their own in a zombie invasion without help?

The way things are today, people are sitting ducks. always outside, never aware of the threat, never watching, and never ever thinking. (Don't worry, I do enough thinking to cover for half of the United states)

The fact is that without public awareness people would never see what is coming to eat the back of their necks out and beat them to death, eventually contaminating their brain tissue with the deadly virus and making them another pawn for the zombies. I say we do something about it.

Children's books about how to hide and kill zombies. public speeches and public service announcements warning the populace to be ready at a moments notice. seminars in our children's schools to keep them on the prod.

People dont understand a lot of things about just how dangerous this is. A raging zombie takes almost double the ammunition to take down than a human, similar to someone with a lot of stimulant drugs in their system, not dropping after the police blow their heads off. And the biggest problem with zombies, as we kill them they grow weaker and we also grow weaker, as they kill us, they grow stronger, and we keep on getting weaker. Zombies would be our families and friends, and if your like me and find swatting a fly to be troubling, than you know it can be hard.

If my words reach someone of importance, maybe they will relay the message of importance to Washington, and the threat will get the recognition it deserves, until than, be safe, trust no one, pee in coffee cans, hoard blunt objects, and be ready, because war is upon us.

Update, Ghostbusters

And now I am going to give you a review of the game Ghostbusters by Atari.

Before I start, let me just say that this is my last old review, when my computer starts working, it will be nothing but fresh stuff.

Ahhhh, Ghostbusters, what could be a better attention grabber for little boys than a bunch of guys in cool uniforms who shoot lasers at ghosts. I felt the same way. I'm not even part of the Ghostbuster generation and I knew i had to get this game!

Things weren't pretty and perfect like today's economy though. Firstly I excitedly got to the game store in time for him to tell me I had the wrong day. Next my little computer upgrade fiasco was wreaking havoc on my plans to play the game. I ran it on a p4, and it moved an inch at a time. So like the smart logical person I was, I purchased hundreds of dollars worth of equipment and ruined my computer. I was able to play it but with my crappy MSI main board, it kept crashing, my graphics card was not getting enough power , and it was all overheating.

I did beat the game though...

But, AT WHAT COST!!! AT... WHAT... COST!!?!

Any way,this time, the events are occurring after the second movie. The game puts you into the shoes of a new recruit who's job is to test experimental equipment. I know you have read this part a million times, bare with me. Right as you are hired a PKE shockwave reverberates through the city, charging up ghosts everywhere. You become very busy as ghosts begin to escape and appear.

Now, this is where it just seems like a bad mock up of the last two movies.

*SPOILERS*
So, they made up a bad excuse just to put marshmallow man in, and they put in peck, and the librarian. and the whole mystery is that it was a backup plan for the guy that caused all the problems in the first place, Ivo Shandor. So after this guy massed thousands of warshippers, built a ghost magnet and summoned a god, he was all like "well if THAT doesnt work, I should probably get a plan B"

Dont get me wrong this was a great game. Amazing graphics, good gameplay.

but it had sloppy animations, a bad storyline, and every-time you get an upgrade to your proton pack, it magically appears and Egon goes "I have upgraded the pack"

So, since I am all into storyline and game play, and we reach a middle ground here, I am going to give this game a nice 3 stars!

New Direction

In order to become a little more professional, I'm changing a few of my blogging ways. First off, mostly proper grammar. Second, I'm going to have more up-to-date reviews of games, I always get my reviews out as I get the game, but in the past I always get it somewhat late. Thirdly, I am going to center this more around the life of a gamer. and lastly, centered text in my posts! It looks better with the new layout I set up. and one last teeny thing I am going to go through and fix my tags, they will be logical and make sense now!
